We harness sport, activity and community spirit to make positive changes within those neighbourhoods who need it most and pride ourselves on our place based, capability approach.
ACE INCLUSIVE
Funded by Sport England and led through GM Moving and Greater Sport, we are the lead delivery organisation for SEND Community test and learn in Stockport and consequently work closely with Stockport Council, Age UK Stockport, Seashell Trust and Life Leisure.
A.C.E. VISION
We work to identify, connect and share existing neighbourhood resources – building, land, people, their relationships, knowledge, capabilities, skills, experience and time, to create affordable and convenient sport and activity provision that the community feel a part of and have great influence over. Our sports zones create pathways to employment, education and good physical and mental health.
A.C.E. METHODOLOGY
Community acceptance, trust and ownership are at the very heart of what we do. We build ACE sports and activity zones in partnership with the local community.
The theoretical underpinnings of our work incorporate both ‘place based’ and ‘capability’ approaches.
